There's NO Morality Left

posted on : 1.2.2000 posted by : Gini

I've read Niri's posting about morality and humanity in Bombay. I've searched and searched in vain. Where the bloody hell is it ? Durazi makes a lot more sense, and I too would like to stand by his side and demand a better environment for myself and my children for times to come. Bravo Durazi. I dare say you must be a pretty good looking guy too.

Durazi thinks he is outspoken, wait to hear what I have to say.

Let the whole damn lot of assholes who want morality and/or are waiting for it to come and hit them in the face in this God forsaken city, just take a flying f++k off the top of the tallest building in their respective filthy areas. Damn optimistic fools !

A little rude, am I ? Perhaps a little too harsh. So sue me. And I'll give you a few more chosen "f" words to boot.

Talking about the Bombay University at Kalina, and the people there. I think my friend's experience was perhaps with the same chap that Niri spoke so highly of (name begins with "D" ?). Yes, the good for nothing, whosemoralsarelastix (re:Asterix), piece of excretion who thinks he is such a great soul. No corruption - in terms of hard cash, but you need to corrupt his ego - his mind. Correct me if I am wrong, but is that not a sin as per the bible - vanity !!!!! Then where is there any morality - when you have to commit a sin of vanity - and cause it to be committed by this so called epitome of morality.

My friend went to the University in connection with some letter received from a foreign immigration service to verify her Bachelors Degree. The damn letter was there for over eight months and no one did a damn about it, and yet are giving her the royal run-around. Want to know more - another friend had his letter lying untouched for over a year - yes - that's over twelve months. I am sure that Niri can enlighten us a bit on HIS purpose to visit the University and the wonderfully moral gentleman, and why did Niri have to go personally. Perhaps someone was too damn moralistic to do his or her own job for which they get paid and for which we, the tax payers, are eventually billed by this f+++++g government.

Let's have some response from you guys on this.

I see that The Sahib has already censored my posting. Atleast let the people read the whole damn thing before you go crazy with the f+++++g delete key.

As I have stated earlier, there should be jobs given on merit basis and not from what caste or background you come from. If you are capable for the job do it or else f+++ off. Why are there unions in Government jobs? Please answer. Because they know they are incapable of doing their jobs and would like to keep it that way.

As I also stated earlier, I strongly believe in capital punishment -okay, a mild capital punishment. Government employees treat this place like their backyards and treat us like shit, though we pay their salaries. They have no fear of the law. Like a huge percentage of the population. Make these guys/gals fear the law and not one wimp assed sole will break a domned rule.

Come on-some must agree with me on this. If not I will be compelled to believe I am radical, or I can explain that I am radical since I feel this is the only form of solution to this city of animals.

Await comments and could'nt agree with Gini any more.

Durazi "STRONGLY" beleives in capital punishment but then adds that it should be a "MILD" form of capital punishment. I am at a loss to understand what that means. Its like saying that your wife is slightly pregnant.

As regards unions my friend lets not forget that there are unions in private jobs as well, it is to protect big employers such as a lot of you posting messages here from exploiting there employees. Tell me do you or dont you employ guys at a paltry salary of a couple of thousand rupees per month and then expect him or her to fill their stomachs raise there children while leading a life of virtual slavery. They need a collective voice to raise against the likes of you.

Every time the government makes a policy that is detrimental to your businesses dont a bunch of you run to the ministry like a pack of salivating wolves and bark out your demands, well that I am sure is an acceptable form of a union to you like the hundreds of ABC Manufacturers Assn, or XYZ Exporters Assn.

I am sure you heard about the MP govt. slasing 44000 gov jobs and a 36 year old man committed suicide leaving behind an uneducated wife and kids. Well if there are no unions you will see many more such incidents.

So sir do not sit in your lofty towers and say who needs unions, you all do the same thing when your interests are trampled upon.

No offence to anyone of you but just some alternative thoughts to keep the battle discussion raging on.

I read gini's response, which is an extremely short sighted veiwpoint. Remember the old adage that all looks yellow to the jaundiced eye. Well my original posting was to show that in an otherwise "immoral" environment there are incidents of morality.

Gini it is obvious that you have not looked hard enough and are cursing the system for all its flaws. You must always look at the brighter side of life or else you will not have much left of it.

Have you ever seen your childs face when he or she comes home excited about something new learnt at school, well thats the education system working. Have'nt you ever come home after a days work feeling that the day went of perfectly and you are satisfied about what you have acheived that day (not monetarily) well thats the system working for you. These occasions may be few and far between but that is what gives you the sustenance to go on to face another day and a another problem govt. or otherwise.

So gini look again and look hard for if you cant see this you have already been forsaken by god or otherwise in this "god forsaken city".

Niri - it seems that you come from a family that has always taken care of your day-to-day needs and where you have not had to work to survive during your younger years. I know people who have had to start working (not for their parent's company or business) but actually work in the real world right from the 9th standard while still in school. I am not even talking of what one may refer to as poor people, but average middle class children.

Yes, it does excite one when new things are learned. So, what has that got to do with the immorality and complete absence of morality and / or sensibility in this damned city of ours. Mark my words, this city is going to self destruct because of the same things that all you guys are talking about on the forum - which can simply be compressed into a neat little statement - the inequities between the "haves" and the "have-nots".

If it was not for these few (and I mean very few) occasions which give us a small bit of happiness and pleasure, life would not worth be living at all. We would have, as you have stated - people committing suicide and bodies lining the sidewalks of this, our own great "city of gold".

Which beings me back to my original submission - was it not a sin (as described by nothing less than the bible itself) of vanity that was committed here by the said person at the University and by my friend for having to "suck-up" to the guy and thus add fuel to the fire of the same sin.

I wait with bated breath for your comments on this "sinful" morality.

Niri - you seem to miss the point here. You have forgotten the days when the Customs officials went on strike, holding the countries exports at ransom for 8 days, a few years ago, only, only because they were being harrassed by the Income Tax department for the unaccounted for money found on them.

State Bank of India went on strike against the possible privatisation of the bank. I was not talking about exploiting labour, I was talking about the Unions (such as examples given above) exploiting the country.

Last time the Taxi's were on strike, we could breath. Do you remember the reason of their strike. Because they did not want take the PUC drive seriously. Why? Why? The Taxi Union held this city at ransom. I am assuming that you live in Bombay and also have children.

You are also assuming that we/I am exploiting labour. Am sure that I am paying the same wages/scales as you are, does that mean you are one of us and doing the same.

You have also missed the point about the issue. The education system is not being discussed or torn apart. IT IS THE GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT AND RAPE OF A PURE SYSTEM THAT IS BEING DISCUSSED HERE.

I think we better meet at a BBQ.

I read the form opinions, it was interesting. I believe in action, meaning I try to change myself for good. Let me share one of my experience. Once I had a lunch and did not have money, similar to one of the form member situation. I put a reminder note in my pocket, so that next day I could pay the lunch amount. It bothered me the whole night, because I didn't want to forget to pay him. And next day in the morning I paid the full amount. For me, this level of sensitivity keeps me alert to recognize that someone was nice to me. Remember changes cannot happen overnight, however, I strongly believe that changes are not so far away. Sometimes I listen to talk radio here in NYC, and there are many angry frustrated people living in the City too.

The fact that NIRI agrees that the days when you get satisfaction of work well done are few and far between shows that he agrees that there is no morality or system in Bombay. Otherwise, the days when work got done would not even be thought of as it would be absurd to have a day or minute when the system did not work for you.

I agree with Devkumar. The SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO WORK - MORE SO FOR YOU AND US. They are not supposed to make you feel they are doing you a favour when they work.

Who the bloody hell pays their salary?

When your child comes home with something new that he/she learnt in school today - THAT IS WHAT THEY GO TO SCHOOL FOR. THAT IS WHAT THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO DO. NOT TAKE MONEY FROM YOU FOR PERSONAL GAINS.

Dear All,

Would like to make a brief point.

The government system does not work at all.but it is the private sector & only the private sector which makes the government do whatever little they are doing, & if the private sector money dries out (which it soon may due to the callous attitude of the government towards commerce & infrastructure in Bombay) you will have a ghost town called Bombay.

To give an example of what I mean, lets say a business house wants to set up a factory because he will make money, so in turn he is expected to part some of this future profit with the government babu's. Thus the babu's work to provide him with the licences. So the babu's have worked because of what they got from the private sector & not because the government pays them to do a job.

So there you are. Hope atleast some of you agree with me.
